First,I have been given the impression that people who had not read the books prefer the Two Towers-Because It was more action packed and the story was getting, I think when people digest all the three movies,I think they'll find FOTR better than TT(although TT is an exceptional movie on It's own)but Return of the King maybe even better. First,If you're going to see this movie you'll better watch the Extended Edition,that adds more story and character detail and explains the story a little better-I don't say this because I've read the books,all the people that I know that haven't read the books prefer the Extended Editions because It explains for them so much more. How good is FOTR?really really still,the books are even better-but It would be impossible to do a movie with all the things that are in the book-maybe as a mini-series they could,but these are those kinds of films that have to be seen in the the Hobbit could be done as a mini-series,but with a Band of Brothers budget. In conclusion if you want the best Fantasy on film you must pick this trilogy,maybe ROTK is better,but FOTR is better than TTT(which is also great,and features the best soundtrack) if you want to watch yet another fantasy film pick Excalibur which is almost as good as this one. even better in the Extended Edition.
